During a 10-day silent meditation retreat, the teacher said to me, “Your work is to do nothing.”
At first, I was confused (even a little frustrated). But over the course of the 10 days, I settled into the concept of “doing nothing” and realized that’s where wisdom, creativity, peace and acceptance live.
So, I thought we could do this together as an experiment to see what comes up for you.
5-minutes for 5-days to DO NOTHING.
August 24 to 28, 2026.

What to Expect
-
Let’s keep this simple.
The practice is to DO NOTHING (no input, no output) for 5 minutes a day over 5 days.
Any time of day, you choose. All you have to do is set your timer, stop what you’re doing and BE for 5 minutes every day.
Lie in the grass, in your bed, on the floor.
Sit under a tree.
Watch the bees, the clouds, the shadows on the wall.
Let your thoughts wander, ramble and zigzag around.
Shift positions, move, or stay still if that’s what your body needs.
Cradle your cup of tea, sip sparkling water, or savour a slice of watermelon.
No stopping your thoughts. No controlling your breath. No rules to follow, except: no input, no output. (That means no talking, no music, no podcasts, no screens, and no “tasks” EX: folding laundry, etc.)

Every day, there will be a Contemplation Question to ponder before or after your practice.
Write about it, sit with it, chat about it with a friend.
There’s no right or wrong way to integrate.
